DUNYA

An absolute openness pervades the work of this five-piece collective. Because Dunya (Turkish for "world") sees itself as an absolutely cosmopolitan band. Dunya are: Banu Sengül (guitar, bouzouki, vocals), Christian Lincke (guitar, producer), Lukas Tietkens (drums), Elias Ferreira (bass) and Dorian Richter (keys, synth).

Their debut album "Zaman" has been announced for June 2023 and, like the EP "Dunya" (2021), will be released on the Hamburg indie record label La Pochette Surprise. Her songs oscillate poetically between Turkish, German and English. Constant changes of perspective that challenge in the most beautiful way. They lead from pure understanding to a stimulating mysteriousness. Making time and existence vibrate beyond stress and usability. And all this embedded in a complex and at the same time extremely engaging sound between psychedelic rock and dream pop,

between oriental flow and herbaceous noise.

The band advocates a mindful approach to the environment and other people and sees music as an element that connects different cultures. They experiment with different genres and create music for an open-minded audience with Turkish, German and English lyrics. For their EP they gave away bee-friendly organic seeds and as merch they brought along self-printed second-hand items. It's about giving individual things their own value and not simply

not simply to consume them.

GYM TONIC

Gym Tonic plays hyped-up synth punk. Forming in 2016 through a mutual love of Devo and desire to make music whilst having a damn good time, they have since toured throughout Europe and Canada, opened for acts such as, King Khan and the Spits, in addition to also sharing festival billings with bands such as Spiritualised, the Oblivians and Kid Congo. Each member has lived in Berlin for more than 10 years, some playing previously in other bands together. Gym Tonic's music combines the melodies of new wave, post-punk and the energy and loudness of synth punk. The band's compositions deal with the lightness and absurdity of being, whilst mixing dark humor with fun facts. Above all, they are very serious about fun.

SABA LOU

Saba Lou Khan grew up with rhythm & blues, soul, punk, spiritual space jazz and classic rock n' roll. Her debut single, which she released when she was just 6 years old, is about her first day at school after moving to Berlin. Her second single, "Good Habits and Bad" was recorded when she was 9 and was chosen for the credits of the Cartoon Network series "Clarence". At 16, she released her first album "Planet Enigma" and began playing solo concerts throughout Europe.

For Saba Lou's second record, "Novum Ovum" (2019), she recruited three of her good friends from Berlin's garage punk and jazz scene: Oska Wald, Amit Alcalai-Duvnjak and Omri Gondor (both from "The Gondors"). Saba Lou performs in many different languages. Her ethereal voice and powerful lyrics make her music and performances a timeless swirl of harmony and philosophy. Saba Lou performs in many different languages and has even sung on Marc Riley's (The Fall) BBC 6 radio show when she was on tour in England. She lives in Berlin where she divides her time between music, kung fu, meditation and studying biochemistry. Live she plays songs from her brand new album and some classics from "Planet Enigma" and "Novum Ovum". Her 60s RnB/Soul/Country sound incorporates the jazz background of the band, Omri Gondor (drums), Amit Alcalai-Duvnjak (keys) and on bass space-age musician Adi Gelbart.
