...the party with the soundtrack of our wild years, the club culture from '77 to '97 - we board the Nightboat to Cairo and visit the Sleeper in Metropolis. We all know this club in our city, the disco where life pulsated. The place where you spent your wild years. At 16, you stayed in the disco longer than allowed for the first time and the music and atmosphere were exciting and at the parties that we celebrated in our parents' basements at home, all the scenes were together: the poppers, the punks, the wavers, the skins, the mods and, above all, the normal people like you and your friends.
especially the normal people like you and me.
And if the city was small enough - and it was for most of us - then there was only one trendy club and everyone from every scene had a home there. Everything went side by side. Madness and Anne Clark belonged at the same party and we could do every dance style. First wild ska ecstasy to Nightboat to Cairo and a few moments later an existentialist two-step-one-step in the best wave style to Sleeper in Metropolis with our heads down. The parties were colorful and the music exciting, everything was new, times of awakening, with open senses off into the future ... Things are moving forward ... New Wave, Gothic, NDW, Alternative Rock, Rockabilly, Punk, Ska, Electro, in between the fall of the Berlin Wall, Madchester, Britpop, TripHop and so on. And the club in your city was of course the center of the universe. What was going on here was at the forefront, was the future, was cool...
DJ Mike Pepper and DJ De La Luz danced through their wild years at the Old Daddy in Oberhausen, the Fabrik in Coesfeld and the Odeon in Münster to Alan Vega, Smiths, D.A.F., Martha And the Muffins, Sisters of Mercy, EMF, Clash, Fehlfarben, Talking Heads and later to Primal Scream, Massive Attack and Underworld. We celebrate our wild years with the original songs. Celebrate with us if you want.
We start at 8:00 pm - yes, you read that right: 8:00 pm - right after/at sunset - but that's the only tribute we pay to our age - dancing will be just as wild and/or expressive as ever.
always been. We want to have a great party and we'll start when the sun goes down - so from 8.00 pm.
We look forward to seeing you!
