Local heroes & national newcomers, always from different genres. This is the monthly pop music series "kult!ufer" at Schwanen.

"Rap-smooched electropop" that not only gets heads moving, but also legs - that's how the pop duo WILLMAN aptly describe themselves. With a mixture of finely tuned melodies, rap parts and electronic beat elements, the Freiburg band packs complex themes into relaxed and danceable sounds. As a socio-political band, WILLMAN create new normalities instead of ignoring existing injustices. With ease instead of displeasure, they clear outdated thought patterns out of the way and point out alternatives. And that works best when you're dancing.

WILLMAN - that's Jo (songwriting, vocals, co-producing) and Felix (drummer, producing, co-writing). Both were born in the 90s in different corners of the Black Forest, where they still live and make music today. Felix has been playing drums since childhood, while Jo tried her hand at the flute, piano and clarinet before developing a passion for songwriting and singing. However, the paths of the two musicians only crossed in 2019, when Jo was looking for a drummer for a planned debut album. The originally planned solo project quickly turned into the idea of a joint pop duo and when asked the question "Do you want to or don't you want to?", both answered "Yes, I do": the band WILLMAN was born.

From September 1, 2024, there will be a new price concept at the Kulturhaus Schwanen. You decide for yourself whether you have a small, normal or generous wallet. This means that you no longer need to provide proof of reduced-price tickets.
