WINTERKIND is an autobiographical solo theater evening that tells of growing up in the GDR system and the consequences that can still be felt today. The production captivates with its extraordinary interweaving of past and present in drama, animated and AI-generated videos and audio art pieces, in which contemporary witnesses also have their say. WINTERKIND interweaves individual stories with historical context and searches for the strength that helped people survive.
Lykke Langer plays herself as a solo performer: distanced and very close, ironic, tragic, bitter, funny, punk - but never with a raised index finger! Her childhood is characterized by stays in crèches and children's homes, competitive sport, applications to leave the country and family entanglements with state security.
WINTERKIND: A journey through seemingly bygone times - with a penchant for punk and an attempt to break the silence between the generations.
