New circus

Piece by piece to the beat of a drum roll, the spectacle unfolds and culminates in an energetic, thrilling rollercoaster ride. At the interface of circus, performance and visual art, a scenic cosmos is created - at the center of which is a spinning ceramic ball that poetically stages the joy of shattering objects. Like a virtuoso one-man band, Julian Vogel plays with traditional circus techniques, a daring bicycle course and a risky roller-skating ride and manages to make the seemingly impossible possible, to build up and break expectations. With "CERAMIC CIRCUS", he creates his very own kind of circus that makes the audience forget that they were expecting anything at all.

Julian Vogel lives in Basel and is involved in various projects in Switzerland and Europe as an author, performer, producer and sound designer. Among other things, he co-founded Compagnie Trottvoir (2012) and KLUB GIRKO (2017), with whom he has realized several projects. He has also worked with compagnie.sh from Switzerland and the Dutch ensemble Panama Pictures, where he has also been an associate artist since 2021. In 2023 Julian Vogel founded his company Cie. unlisted.
