Last year, we cycled the biogas from Wilhelmsburg in a bicycle parade. Now Altona has its own small biogas plant! It is located at the KulturEnergieBunker Altona (KEBAP) and works in a similar way to a cow: organic matter goes in at the front and methane gas comes out at the back. And that's what we cook with: CO2 neutral and with saved food.
Our cow has been fed once a month since March. To do this, the neighborhood (residents, Louise Schroeder School, Café Buondi, etc.) collects fresh organic waste and harvests two biogas bags full of methane gas. These biogas bags weigh 4 kg and we can strap them onto our backs like a rucksack.
You are invited to the first big hike through the district with cowbells ringing and music by DJ CurlyVinyl.
Once we arrive at the altonale festival site, we chop and cook a delicious BioGAS meal with the gas.
The plan:
12.00 Meeting point KEBAP, Schomburgstraße 6
12.15 Start of the hike with biogas backpacks, accompanied by DJ CurlyVinyl
13.30 Chopping disco with rescued food for a CO2-neutral BioGAStmahl on the Christianswiese
14.30 Expert test: What's in the bag? First projections on how long the flame will burn
15.00 Torsten at the gas stove conjures up something tasty for us
16.00 Durational performance by Anne Gelderblom & Surya Tüchler
17.00 BioGAStmahl made from rescued food - while stocks last - on a soundscape by DJ CurlyVinyl
A project by altonale visionair in cooperation with KEBAP e.V. / Hamburg Open Online University (HOOU) / WATTwanderungen in Hamburg / TU Hamburg / Zinnwerke e.V. / Christianskirche / foodsharing / WillkommensKulturHaus
