Poems and music for peace
Christopher Haupt's literary works are characterized by their trenchant richness of imagery and great empathy. His poems and short prose texts of recent years are marked by daily reports of war - worldwide and from the heart of Europe - as well as concern about the ongoing destruction of our only planet. At the same time, the Berlin-born poet from Friesland repeatedly captures moments of happiness, peaceful interpersonal encounters or scenic beauty in order to preserve them poetically.
This musically enriched reading thus becomes a journey through spaces, times and landscapes - inspired by the longing for peace.
Steffi Haupt accompanies the spoken poetry sensitively with vocals and guitar music, accompanied by free saxophone improvisations and settings with echoes of klezmer music, international folklore and jazz.
