Papenburg: Kick-off for the Football World Cup

The freight depot will become the "stadium of the city" for all games of the German team plus semi-final and final. Free admission to public viewing and Papenburg's largest exchange market for collectible soccer photos!

It will be the major sporting event of the coming summer: the Football World Cup. And Papenburg is certain that the enthusiasm of the fans will be ignited. "Our freight depot will be the town's stadium, with a big screen, drinks and stadium sausages," says Roland Averdung. All matches of the German national team and the finals will be broadcast. As is typical for stadiums, there will be standing and seated areas in the goods station. "We look forward to welcoming all soccer fans, whether alone, with friends or the whole family. It's all about the shared experience," continues Averdung. Fittingly, admission is free of charge.
