In the organizer's words:

This month at Dortmund's cuddliest poetry slam, we're dedicating ourselves to up-and-coming art and young talent!

We're looking forward to bringing the next generation of poets to the stage! Here, young people present their self-written texts in competition against each other and make themselves heard! There are no content guidelines, so the performances are as varied as the performers themselves. It will be funny, lyrical, personal, political, touching, you name it! The main thing is to perform without props in 6 minutes. The audience decides who gets to recite a second text in the final and who wins the competition in the end!

The Wohnzimmerslam has been organizing poetry slams in Dortmund and the surrounding area for over 10 years. The Taranta Babu is our oldest location and has coined our name with its cozy charm. We strive to make our events as safe as possible so that everyone feels comfortable and can easily participate in culture. Any form of discrimination has no place here. In order to live up to this claim, we always have an awareness person on site who is available for questions, criticism and emotional support.
