Wolfgang Laib. The Beginning of Something Else

In exchange with the surrounding nature and in harmony with the seasons, Wolfgang Laib's subtle works are created. Whether it is the collection of pollen for his famous minimalist, bright yellow floor works or the lengthy processing of his sculptures made of beeswax - respect for nature is the driving force of the artist. Since the late 1970s, his thinking and work has posed questions about our being and acting as part of fragile habitats, and in this, it could not be more topical.

In the exhibition, the Kunstmuseum presents works from all creative phases of Wolfgang Laib, who was born in Metzingen in 1950 and has been living near Biberach in Baden-Württemberg for over 30 years. A film realized in the context of the exhibition will accompany the artist at his work in Upper Swabia as well as at his second home in South India.
