"Awareness/empathy training/non-violent communication" workshop with Schwessi and Xenia Brandt

Hamburg's queerfeminist stand-up comedy show is going on tour in October 2024 and celebrating its final show at Kulturladen St. Georg - with an art-activist anti-discrimination day!

Free workshops on stand-up comedy, slam poetry, songwriting, improv/acting and awareness/non-violent communication will take place from 1 to 5 pm. Autobiographical experiences or observations are artistically processed and presented in the evening in the comedy show in a funny way in the various genres. The workshop leaders are all comedians and at the same time affected by discrimination themselves, whether gay, non-binary, trans, single+queer or BiPoC, and use their art to transform the topics that concern them - and which are also socio-politically relevant. People who have had no previous contact with (queer) feminist issues and who want to actively open themselves up to new perspectives and art forms are also expressly invited to take part.

You can reserve your ticket for the workshop with Schwessi and Xenia Brandt here - Schwessi is a trained trainer and seminar leader for non-violent communication and Xenia is awareness-trained and head of the Smash Comedy awareness team.

In this workshop you will learn the basics of awareness work and how to apply the first steps of non-violent communication in practice. In this workshop, we want to train empathy and change perspectives and actively deal with our own hurts, prejudices and inner enemy images, because "every conflict and every judgment is the tragic expression of unfulfilled needs" (Marshall B. Rosenberg). All feelings are welcome on this journey of self-exploration, on which we support each other through compassionate understanding.
