Workshop "Besenbinden"

In the organizer's words:

Workshop BESENBINDEN

The new year begins at the Freudenthaler Sensenhammer Industrial Museum with a special, nature-oriented offer:

Next Sunday, interested visitors will have the opportunity to learn the traditional craft of broom tying in a hands-on workshop.

Under the expert guidance of Hartmut Winkels, a scythe teacher with many years of experience and a broad view of the craft, participants will make their own broom from gorse and brushwood. For many years, Winkels has been teaching the art of broom making alongside scythe work.

In keeping with the turn of the year, the workshop takes on an almost symbolic meaning: the self-tied broom can be used to "sweep away the old times and sweep in a happy 2026".

All materials are provided and you can take your own broom home with you afterwards. The precise instructions and personal support make the course just as suitable for beginners as for experienced craftspeople.

The workshop is close to nature, decelerating and ecologically oriented.

Date: Sunday, January 18, from 12:00 to 16:00
Cost: 70 euros (including all material costs and drinks)
Venue: Freudenthaler Sensenhammer Industrial Museum
Registration: Online via www.sensenhammer.de
Note: The number of participants is limited
