I am happy to share with you my wealth of experience in the field of etching and give you an insight into the basic techniques of intaglio printing.

Beginners, inexperiencedartists, hobby artists, people interested in art and people who think they can't draw or who have been drawing for ages are ♥-ly welcome. ...Advanced and professional artists too, of course.

The courses are absolutely suitable for beginners. You will be introduced to the respective technique step by step and without any pressure. A cozy cup of tea is provided on the side. You are also welcome to bring cookies and snacks.

The courses are generally structured in such a way that you can first try out the technique on a test plate (zinc or aluminum) and then create your own small motif. So you have enough time to try it out. Your work can take the form of a postcard, a bookmark or a small original. Materials and tools will be provided on site and are included in the price, so you don't need to bring anything with you. At the end, you can take everything you have created home with you as a nice souvenir.

Please wear sturdy, closed shoes (no risk of tripping, important e.g. at the etching station) and clothes that can get dirty.

Drypoint etching is a direct printing technique in which lines are scratched into the metal plate with a pointed needle or pointed object.

However, the classic "cold" line can also be supplemented with materials such as tape, tile adhesive, carborundum or quartz sand. These are applied to the plate in a painted or flat manner and create relief-like printing results. Sandpaper or abrasive tools can also be used for the mechanical removal of metal.
