Take off with Jefta Tanate. The Dutch dancer and choreographer will make you sweat with imposing tasks and partnering exercises - and get you up in the air. The workshop focuses on jumps and the possibilities of moving the body in the air, as well as safe cushioning when landing. From subtle to acrobatic!

JEFTA TANATE

Jefta Tanate is a graduate of the ArtEZ dance academy and entered the Dutch dance world through his internship with Scapino Ballet. He has worked with Arch8, Johannes Wieland, Panama Pictures and RITUAL. In 2017, Jefta was nominated for a Swan for 'Most Impressive Dance Performance' for his role in Jasper van Luijk's The Definition of Now. In 2022 he was nominated again, this time for a Young Swan for his performance in Birds by Dalton Jansen and Anne Maike Mertens, by DOX and Theater Rotterdam.

In his dance career, Jefta has used various techniques and methods such as contact improvisation, martial arts and circus, which he has further developed at Maas Theater & Dance, Panama Pictures and Arch8.

WORKSHOPS

In each workshop, participants will work intensively with one of the artists over 3 days.

Each workshop is offered for two levels:
SOFT - slower pace, for relaxed people or those with little previous experience
INTENSIVE - faster tempo, for motivated or with dance experience & professionals

13:30-16:00 Soft

SUMMER ACADEMY

The TanzFaktur Summer Academy - Cologne's international festival for contemporary dance- takes place every year in mid-July. Thelarge-scale two-week festival is a platform for top-class national and international artists, projects and collectives.

In addition to the performances, workshops for professionals and dance enthusiasts offer opportunities for exchange between dance professionals and the audience.
