WORKSHOP – Können wir feministisches Wissen machen?

PICK OF THE DAY
You cannot miss this event.
In the organizer's words:

Philosophy. What a word. Not infrequently one that brings up the faces of white men and leaves the feeling of "the big questions" and "the great abstractness". But what if there is feminist philosophy? And what if this philosophy not only animates the universities of this world, but is for us and with us all - us who long for, dream of and want to fight for a feminist world? And what if, on March 8, the day of feminist struggles, we come together, warm and angry, to make feminist knowledge?

Like philosophy, knowledge is a big, often loaded term. It is often associated with supposed "neutrality" or "rationality". Feminist epistemology and philosophy of knowledge addresses connections like these to show how long knowledge has been dominated by white and male perspectives and to find ways to change this.

We invite you to a collective event dedicated to reading and questioning together: What (feminist) knowledge do we need? What knowledge does our feminism need?

On April 22, we will read small passages of feminist philosophy together with Cara and talk about them. You don't need any prior knowledge. Just you, a little desire for text and your favorite writing utensils! After reading together, we will go into small, individual writing exercises in which you can calmly relate to the input and what we have read together with small "journal questions". Then we'll come back together and end the evening in open-ended mode!

  • Admission: 18:30, start: 19:00
  • There are about 20 seats. :)

About Cara:
Cara researches feminist and decolonial epistemology, neurodiversity and theorizing sexuality and sexual violence. She researches and writes as part of her doctorate as well as in all other places that allow her to write and research. In spring 2024, for example, she will publish a collection of feminist essays that explore the intersections of personal experience, political dimensions and theoretical reflection.
