Workshop: Songwriting/Musik-Comedy

Hamburg's queerfeminist stand-up comedy show goes on tour in October 2024 and celebrates its big final show at Kulturladen St. Georg - with an art-activist anti-discrimination day!

Free workshops on stand-up comedy, slam poetry, songwriting, improv/acting, drag styling/performance and awareness/non-violent communication will take place from 1 to 5 pm. Autobiographical experiences or observations are artistically processed and presented in the evening in the Smash Comedy Show (at 8 pm) in a funny way in the various genres. The workshop leaders are all comedians and at the same time affected by discrimination themselves, whether gay, non-binary, trans, single+queer or BiPoC, and use their art to transform the topics that concern them - and which are also socio-politically relevant. People who have had no previous contact with (queer) feminist issues and who want to actively open themselves up to new perspectives and art forms are also expressly invited to take part.

The course aims to offer a space in which people can compose together in a fun and creative way without prejudice. The aim of the course is to develop techniques for incorporating humor, satire and irony into song lyrics in order to playfully question topics such as identity, gender roles, sexual orientation and social norms.

The course leader is Bene Belter, stand-up comedian, singer-songwriter, improvisational musician and actor. In his art, social criticism is interwoven with personal experiences to create a colorful, sometimes soft, sometimes rough carpet of entertainment.
