WORKSHOP: Urban Contemporary mit Mina Schneider

Urban Contemporary...

... is a dance style that combines elements of contemporary dance with the energy of urban dance, floorwork technique and various styles such as Afro Jazz and Groove. This versatile fusion allows participants to explore and integrate a broad spectrum of artistic expression by combining urban and contemporary movement techniques. The result is a dynamic and captivating dance language that blurs the boundaries between different dance styles and offers space for creative development.

Mina's passion as a dancer and teacher stems from her lifelong obsession with movement and music and experiencing and enjoying them together in a variety of situations, which has led her closer and closer to her profession as a dance artist. Mina began dancing at an early age in the ballet studios of Sonja Bjerke and Olivia Lindig. Later, as a teenager, Mina began to train weekly in contemporary, dancehall and modern dance alongside classical ballet; and after graduating from high school in 2018, it was quickly decided that the path would continue in the direction of dance. From 2018 to 2022, Mina studied dance, choreography and pedagogy at the 'ArtEZ University of the Arts' in the Netherlands and danced in various pieces and productions. During her studies, she focused mainly on discovering her own dance language and gained professional training in ballet, modern, contemporary/floorwork and jazz styles. In the last year of her studies, Mina specialized in interdisciplinary work with professional dancers and musicians in order to put both disciplines in relation to each other through improvisation. Mina currently dances and teaches mainly in Cologne and Düsseldorf. She teaches in the styles Urban Contemporary, Floorwork, Improvisation and Modern.

The workshop is designed for all levels of experience.
