WortManege - Poetry Slam

In the organizer's words:

Poetry Slam is back! In the unique atmosphere of Circus Schnick-Schnack, four of the best poets from the German-speaking slam scene will come together this evening, performing original works that oscillate between laconicism and depth, between the deeply personal and the bigger picture.

In addition to the performing poets, the audience also plays a crucial role. You decide who takes home the victory in the end. It’s precisely this direct interaction that makes the evening so lively. Whether you’re a regular at poetry slams or attending for the first time, this event offers a mix of humor, depth, entertainment, and moments of surprise that will immediately draw even newcomers in.

Jeanette Kasper-Feldisa poetry slammer from the Lower Rhine region. Most of the time, she takes the stage with angry poetry and sad prose, trying to put into words the feeling of almost fitting in yet still standing out.

Alina Schmolkeisan author, host, and slam poet from Ratingen. Whether at the Hörsaalslam, a district council’s annual reception, or the Deichbrand Festival: Since 2016, Alina has regularly brought her audience to ecstatic applause. With ease and humor, she helps her audience engage with serious topics, a skill that has already earned her multiple spots in the finals of the North Rhine-Westphalia championships.

Malek Khamis, a finalist in the 2025 North Rhine-Westphalia State Championship, is the young newcomer from Hagen. Raw, rough, honest: With his authentic yet literarily sophisticated texts, he qualified for the North Rhine-Westphalia State Championships after just a few months on stage.

Björn Rosenbaumtellsoutrageous stories from life and captivates the audience with his passionate and dramatic delivery. The Dortmund-based slam poet has been synonymous with performance with attitude for over a decade. Wearing a cap and raising his fist, he brings his texts to life. Known as “The Man with the Clipboard,” he has long been a cult figure in the NRW slam scene.

The event is organized by Luise Wolff and Evgenija Kosov in cooperation with Circus Schnickschnack.
