Hugo Wolf died on February 22, 1903, just a few blocks from Franz Schubert's birthplace in Vienna's Alsergrund district. But it is not only biographical coincidence that connects the two probably most important song composers of the 19th century. The program of the Schubert Week 2024, curated by Thomas Hampson, illuminates parallels and contrasts in their oeuvre and places the works of Schubert and Wolf in dialogue with other composer:s in a larger music-historical context. As every year, the Young Singers concerts feature outstanding young singers together with renowned song accompanists. Details of the program and information on two further concerts on Friday, January 26 and Saturday, January 27, both at 8 p.m., will be available here from September 2023.In cooperation with the Liedakademie des Heidelberger Frühling Liedzentrum & Hampsong Foundation
