Yttling Jazz *live*

Yttling Jazz is the project of Swedish producer, songwriter and artist Björn Yttling (Peter Bjorn and John, Abstract Crimewave, live with Lykke Li, Jeff Bhasker, Miike Snow). His new album "Illegal Hit" was released in September 2025. Two decades after his debut "Oh Lord Why Can't I Keep My Big Mouth Shut?", Yttling presents a new ensemble of Swedish jazz greats. The result is a rich, cinematic collection of instrumental pieces inspired by Brian Eno, Jean-Michel Jarre, Nino Rota, Charles Mingus and Thelonious Monk, paying homage to the lush, sensual jazz that has been instrumental in shaping Yttling's music.

Yttling grew up with jazz and studied at one of Europe's most renowned conservatories. In his youth, he traveled weekly by train to Stockholm to receive private lessons from the legendary Esbjörn Svensson, who has since passed away. "Illegal Hit" is a return to these roots - as well as to his rural, secretive origins in the north of Sweden - and opens up an unusual perspective: that of a jazz bandleader who is also a celebrated indie hit producer.

It is serious music by serious musicians - but at the same time playful, sincere and infused with the eccentric charm that has always characterized Yttling's career. This very spirit has led to collaborations with a wide range of artists, including Lykke Li - with whom Yttling has worked since her debut - as well as Robyn, Franz Ferdinand, Primal Scream, First Aid Kit, Tom Odell, Weezer, The Pretenders, The Hives and David Lynch.
