The Orchestre national du Capitole de Toulouse under the direction of Ryan Bancroft is dedicating itself to two musical milestones: Sergei Rachmaninov's Second Piano Concerto and Gustav Holst's monumental orchestral suite "The Planets". The solo part will be performed by the young pianist Roman Borisov, who caused a sensation just a few weeks ago with his impressive performance of Satie's "Vexations" at the Konzerthaus Dortmund - and now shows his great romantic side with Rachmaninov.

Rachmaninov's Second Piano Concerto is one of the most popular works in the piano literature - a piece full of passionate melodies, grand gestures and deep emotionality. The Russian composer wrote it after a serious personal crisis, creating music that impressively combines pain and hope, melancholy and triumph.

Roman Borisov, who impresses with his fine sense of sound and structure, performs the solo part with lyrical depth and technical precision. After his extraordinary feat of endurance in Satie's "Vexations", he shows another facet of his artistic personality here - sensitive, powerful and poetic.

Ryan Bancroft is on the podium with the Orchestre national du Capitole de Toulouse, who explores the work's broad emotional arcs as well as its orchestral richness of color. In the second part of the evening, Holst's "The Planets" unfolds its full cosmic radiance: from the relentless energy of 'Mars' to the festive splendor of 'Jupiter' and the mysterious stillness of 'Neptune'. Two contrasting worlds of sound, linked by orchestral brilliance and emotional depth.
