ZAK ABEL

Zak Abel is a British singer and songwriter who achieved greater fame through his guest vocals on Gorgon City's UK Top 20 hit single "Unmissable."

He wrote his own songs and uploaded videos of them to YouTube as a 14-year-old before finally signing a record deal in 2014 and meeting influential music producer Joker. Zak and Joker released a four-track EP in 2015, which was followed shortly thereafter by Zak's solo project "One Hand On The Future," on which he collaborated with Tom Misch on "Beautiful Escape" and Kaytranada on "Say Sumthin." These early collaborations encouraged Zak as a writer, which would prove to be the perfect preparation for his debut work, "Only When We're Naked" in 2017.

On his first album release, Zak steered his creativity into pop spheres for the first time and continued to distinguish himself as a songwriter - resulting in Kygo, Avicii, R3hab & ZAYN and Paloma Faith & John Legend knocking on his door to write hits for them. Now signed to BMG, his own music mixes soulful vocals with R&B and pop. The smoky 2021 release "Be Kind" made the AirPlay charts in several European countries and the Top 30 on the HOT AC charts in the U.S., setting the tone for his upcoming second album.

In addition to his music, Zak is also an ambassador for the mental health charity CALM and speaks openly about issues surrounding this topic, incorporating themes of identity and mental health issues into his lyrics.

In November, Zak Abel comes to us at KENT Club as part of his European tour.
