In the organizer's words:
In Johann Sebastian Bach's "Musical Offering", Elina Albach and her ensemble Continuum seek answers to fundamental social questions: How do we enter into conversation? How do we reduce distance? Bach's complex sequence of very different movement forms, an artistic reflection of his encounter with Frederick II of Prussia, accompanies us on a journey through imaginary landscapes. With new instrumentation, supplemented by electronic soundscapes and combined with video projections, the baroque work is brought into the present. Old music in constantly new perspectives, both sonically and visually.
