Britta Lieberknecht Dancers & Musicians will once again open this year's Kultursommer Bergisch Gladbach with an extraordinary dance event.
Britta Lieberknecht and her sextet will present a dance and music performance in the Kalandersaal on the Zanders site (formerly the Zanders paper mill) that draws on the architecture and its atmosphere. Sounds play a key role in the performance, which was specially developed for the listed warehouse. In the special acoustics with an almost four-second reverberation, the finest sounds are transmitted over long distances. The two musicians - masters of their instruments - perform in the space together with four expressive dancers, who also use their voices, movement sounds and body percussion. In the industrial-cultural ambience of the approx. 55 m long hall of the industrial and architectural monument and the adjoining drive-through hall, the performers create a unique experience both sonically and visually.
