In the organizer's words:
Three choreographic world premieres by Marika Brussel, Lucia Giarratana and Martina Di Giulio
FORMICHE have existed on earth for more than 100 million years. These small animals can carry many times their body weight. Their strength lies not in the individual, but in the community. In "FORMICHE", Italian choreographer Martina Di Giulio explores the relationship between human body language and the world of ants. Repetition, proximity and joint movement create a living structure: a system of bodies that organizes, dissolves and re-forms itself. The choreography becomes a metaphor for collective intelligence: strength is not loud, power is not size - the connection itself becomes power.
Coiled - ready to jump. The London-based American guest choreographer Marika Brussel takes the myth of Medusa as the starting point for her creation. The goddess Pallas Athena had equipped her with snake hair and wings to protect her. Everyone who saw her froze to stone. Brussel interprets the myth as one of transformation, sisterhood and power. She invites the audience to see Medusa not as a monster, but as someone who redefines what strength and femininity can mean.
Fleur de peau. Our skin is not only our most versatile organ, but also a mirror of our soul. With its furrows and discolorations, it tells our personal (body) story; every emotion is visible on it. The skin is in constant dialog with the environment, it demarcates, it seduces and follows every movement of our body. In "Fleur de peau", Italian guest choreographer Lucia Giarratana explores our highly sensitive body skin.
