Culinary experiences and extraordinary design in the garden of the MAK Geymüllerschlössel (weather permitting).
This year’s season at the MAK Geymüllerschlössel, with the“Zeit für Kost”series, is once again all about a journey into the world of cuisine and design.
Building on the series developed in 2024 in collaboration with POPCHOP, a monthly format will unfold over five dates, bringing together design, cuisine, and an artistic program within a sensory spatial context. At the heart of each event is a set table, specially curated for the occasion. Various curators develop unique installations for each table using ceramics, glass, textiles, floral arrangements, and objects from a wide variety of sources. Historical works meet contemporary pieces on equal footing. Each table thus becomes an atmospheric ensemble—a collage, still life, and tableau vivant all at once.
The culinary aspect responds to the respective design: For each event, a specific menu is created in collaboration with a guest food pop-up, one that takes up the materials, colors, textures, and moods of the table, expands upon them, and translates them into flavors. The format is complemented by a supporting program featuring music, readings, and performative elements that atmospherically accompany each day without taking center stage.
