The State Palaces and Gardens of Baden-Württemberg open, communicate, develop and preserve 63 of the state's historical monuments. The largest cultural tourism provider in the southwest of Germany covers 2,000 years of the state's history. Managing Director Patricia Alberth explains how the palaces, castles, monasteries and gardens are not only protected as monuments, but also used as places for education, recreation and events. She also talks about current challenges such as climate change and the use of modern technologies. She presents individual monuments and explains how their historical significance is reconciled with modern requirements.
Patricia Alberth is Managing Director of the State Palaces and Gardens of Baden-Württemberg. In this role, she is responsible for the tourism marketing and strategic development of 63 monuments, including Heidelberg Castle and the UNESCO World Heritage Maulbronn Monastery.
