In the organizer's words:

200 years ago, on April 30, 1825, 101 booksellers and publishers signed their stock exchange regulations, which also marked the birth of the Börsenverein der Deutschen Buchhändler in Leipzig. It is the oldest continuously existing trade organization in Germany.

To mark the anniversary, the exhibition "Between Lines and Times" presents selected objects and documents from the extensive holdings of the Börsenverein libraries in Leipzig and Frankfurt am Main, which are kept in the German Museum of Books and Writing. In eight chapters, the objects presented shed light on 200 years of eventful association and book trade history.

"Between Lines and Times" is a contribution to the theme year "More than a History. Book City Leipzig" of the City of Leipzig 2025.

To mark the 200th anniversary of the Börsenverein des Deutschen Buchhandels, the publication "Zwischen Zeilen und Zeiten. Book trade and publishers 1825-2025".
