zwischen/miete nrw mit Mercedes Spannagel
In the organizer's words:
Mercedes Spannagel reads from her new novel Crashtest Dummies in a private apartment in Münsterland.
As an engineer in the automotive industry, Cleo works in a male domain - and at the open heart of the stumbling German economy. Her team is tasked with driving forward the development of an electric model, but they are mainly driven by the canteen menu. Cleo doesn't believe in conventions or working at weekends, nor does she believe that she has to represent anything as a woman in technology. But then she finds herself in a competitive situation with her colleague Martin, which develops into a mutual obsession. For Cleo, it's not just about her professional future, but also about not letting herself be booted out by a man.
Fast-paced and bitterly angry, this novel tells the story of a young woman who has to redefine herself in order to triumph. (Blessing Verlag)
The reading will be moderated by Katharina Ußling.
