Every year the Fantasy Filmfest tours Germany and every year it offers its audience a unique mix of genre films that can't be seen anywhere else in German cinema. With a program of breathless thrillers, obscure sci-fi reveries, hard horror shockers and soulful arthouse gems, the Fantasy Filmfest has been THE alternative to the superhero monotony of mainstream cinema for over 30 years.

Here, fantasy does not stand for dragons, fairies and enchanted forests, but for fantasy, innovation and bizarreness. Films that step out of line, stand out, challenge and overtax, break with conventions, provoke and above all films that are simply fantastic. From A for arthouse anthology to Z for zombie slasher, the Fantasy Filmfest offers space for all the quiet, loud and shrill nuances that are often overheard everywhere else. With a lot of heart and soul (and fake blood!) the Fantasy Filmfest delivers the best the genre has to offer. In short: Fantastic films!
