For 45 years, the Karsten Jahnke Konzertdirektion has been playing summer after summer on the open-air stage in Hamburg's Stadtpark, which is not only considered one of the greenest, but also one of the most beautiful in Europe.

The legendary concert venue in the heart of the Hanseatic city is like a 'musical recreation area' with an intimate living room atmosphere: concertgoers stand in a beautiful, grassy rondel enclosed by four-meter-high beech hedges. The interior, which rises to the sides, offers the audience a good view of the stage from all seats. In such idyllic surroundings, the big stars have probably never been seen anywhere else, which is why concerts in the Stadtpark often have the character of relaxed family reunions.

The Stadtpark Open Air is also one of the favorite stages for many artists and bands of various genres. Jackson Browne described it as "the most glorious, peaceful place on earth with a unique atmosphere." Besides, rock, pop, hip-hop, soul and jazz, Stadtpark also offers a stage for classical music, comedy or children's music events.

The list of musicians who regularly play here is long: It includes international names such as The Who, Lady Gaga, Neil Young, The Cure, Bob Dylan, Pink, Sting, ZZ Top, Alanis Morissette, James Brown, Paolo Conte, Johnny Cash, Erykah Badu, Santana, Peter Gabriel, Massive Attack, Jamie Cullum, Deep Purple, Gregory Porter or Van Morrison as well as national greats, including Herbert Grönemeyer, Johannes Oerding, Max Giesinger, Helge Schneider, Ina Müller, Jan Delay, Max Herre, Dieter Thomas Kuhn or Hamburg veteran Lotto King Karl, who will be honored in 2019 on the occasion of his 50th concert. The first star on the 'Stadtpark Walk Of Fame' was awarded to him in 2019 on the occasion of his 50th concert on the open-air stage.

The open-air stage is perfectly connected to public transport, the ticket for the Stadtpark Open Air is also the HVV ticket. For a smart journey, we also recommend bikesharing - there are numerous StadtRAD rental stations in and around the Stadtpark. The Stadtpark Freilichtbühne was awarded the LEA Live Entertainment Award 'Venue of the Year' in 2016.
