Albertina Modern

The Albertina Modern is the branch of the Albertina in Vienna and was opened on May 27, 2020 in the historic Künstlerhaus on Karlsplatz.

The museum focuses on art from 1945 onwards and its collection presents all the movements that have shaped Austria's recent art history - including Fantastic Realism, Viennese Actionism, Postmodernism and contemporary art.

The collection comprises an impressive 60,000 works by around 5,000 artists and is supplemented by regular temporary exhibitions that shed light on the history of art from the second half of the 20th century to the present day.

Together with the main Albertina building at Burggarten, the Albertina Modern is the largest museum of modern art in Central Europe.
