The Albertina is one of Vienna's most important art museums and is located in the 1st district, right next to the Vienna State Opera and the Burggarten. The building was once the largest residential palace of the Habsburgs and today houses around 20 restored classicist state rooms, which lend the museum an imperial flair.

The Albertina is world-famous above all for its extraordinary collection of prints and drawings, which comprises over 50,000 drawings and more than a million prints, spanning around 600 years of art history.

In the display collection, the museum presents the most exciting art movements of the last 130 years - from French Impressionism to German Expressionism and the Russian avant-garde right up to the present day. The best-known works include Monet's "Water Lily Pond", Degas' "Dancers" and works by Picasso, Klimt and Warhol.

The offer is complemented by the Albertina Modern on Karlsplatz, a branch with around 2,500 m² of exhibition space for modern and contemporary art, in particular Austrian art after 1945.
