Hanover Zoo has a long and exciting history. It was created as early as 1679 by Duke Johann Friedrich as a hunting ground. Originally, the zoo was a place where the dukes of Hanover went stalking. Hanover Zoo is located in the Kirchrode district, around 15 minutes from the city center. You can easily reach it by streetcar or bike. A real plus point if you don't want to waste a lot of time getting there!
