The Archenhold Observatory is the oldest and largest public observatory in Germany. Since 1896 you can observe the sky here - in the middle of Treptower Park - with the longest movable refracting telescope in the world. In addition to the "Great Refractor", other attractions include the historic Einstein Hall, the Zeiss Small Planetarium and a museum dedicated to celestial science. With its diverse offerings, the Archenhold Observatory invites you on a journey through the world of astronomy. Stiftung Planetarium Berlin - Astonishment at the Speed of Light

The Stiftung Planetarium Berlin (SPB) is a foundation under public law. Its sponsor is the State of Berlin - responsibility: Senate Department for Education, Youth and Family. The foundation has existed since July 1, 2016 and comprises three locations: the Archenhold Observatory in Treptow, the Planetarium am Insulaner with Wilhelm Foerster Observatory in Schöneberg and the Zeiss Large Planetarium in Prenzlauer Berg.

The houses of the foundation are modern bridges to the cosmos. As a joint institution, they are at the forefront of international technology and content and are an essential part of Berlin's educational and cultural offerings. The foundation bundles the topic of astronomy and thus utilizes synergies. The decisive factor here is the reorientation and professionalization of the joint schedule and program offerings. In addition to astronomy, the range of topics will be expanded to include other sciences.
