The library of the German Cookbook Museum with its (historical) cookbook collection offers an insight into cooking knowledge, housekeeping and stockpiling, among other things. The permanent exhibition is currently being redesigned and will have a new location in Dortmund city center.

If you are looking for a recipe for a seasonal dish, want to do research for a scientific paper, read old manuscripts or simply enjoy browsing through cookbooks, we will be happy to help you!

During consultation hours, a team of volunteers will process your inquiries: you can contact the library by email or telephone. We are also happy to hand in duplicates of cookbooks or guidebooks in return for a small donation - this supports the work of the German Cookbook Museum.
