🌱 Bornkampus – Urban Farm, Culture & Nature at the Bornkamp Cemetery

Bornkampus is located at the Bornkamp Cemetery in Hamburg-Altona and, since fall 2024, has been gradually developed by WeField e.V. into a community space for culture, agriculture, education, and social interaction.

🌻 Biodiversity Park & Urban Farm
A biodiversity park is taking shape on the former cemetery grounds, and right next to it, an urban farm—an example of urban agriculture that shows just how much can grow on unused land right in the heart of the city.

🔨 Chapel, Workshop, & Event Spaces
The former maintenance yard and the historic chapel will house workshop, educational, and event spaces, including, in particular, hands-on activities such as harvesting and fermentation workshops.

♻️ Careful Renovation Instead of New Construction
The cemetery’s unique character will be preserved: Existing buildings will be repurposed with care and in a reversible manner rather than replaced with new construction—a resource-conserving approach that reflects the vision for the entire site.

🥕 Home of Good Round Table
The Bornkampus is where most Good Round Table courses take place: harvesting together, processing the produce right away, and understanding how food is truly produced.
