The Documentation Center Flight, Expulsion, Reconciliation is located at Anhalter Bahnhof in the heart of Berlin - a unique place of learning and remembrance about flight, expulsion and forced migration in the past and present. You can expect exhibitions, a library with an archive of contemporary witnesses, a room of silence, guided tours, workshops and events.

FREE ADMISSION

On 1,500 square meters, the permanent exhibition sheds light on politically, ethnically and religiously motivated forced migrations, especially in the 20th century in Europe and beyond. The focus of the presentation is on the flight and expulsion of Germans during and after the Second World War, which began in Germany. Special exhibitions are regularly presented on the first floor of the building on an area of around 450 square meters.

On the second floor of the Documentation Center, we invite you to visit the special scientific library and the archive with documents, escape reports and moving interviews with contemporary witnesses. There you can delve deeper into our topics and gain exciting insights into oral history and family research.

We offer a wide range of educational activities for school pupils, young people, visitor groups, teachers and students. You can expect multi-perspective educational formats such as guided tours, workshops and training courses, teaching materials for preparation and follow-up as well as inclusive offers.
