The Filmcasino is located at Margaretenstraße 78 in Vienna's 5th district of Margareten and is one of Vienna's best-known arthouse cinemas. The single-screen cinema with 254 seats impresses with its well-preserved, nostalgic interior in the style of the 1960s and is considered one of the most beautiful design jewels in the Viennese cinema landscape.

The Filmcasino sees itself as an arthouse cinema and aims to offer the most innovative and diverse program of all Viennese arthouse cinemas. The focus is on international arthouse productions, political cinema, queer storytelling and visual experiments - supplemented by numerous festivals and special themes. Reopened in 1989, it has since become one of Austria's leading arthouse cinemas.

The Filmcasino is operated by the same company as the Filmhaus Kino am Spittelberg - another single-screen cinema with 100 seats. Particularly noteworthy is the "cinemama" format - a morning screening with free childcare, which makes it easier for parents to go to the cinema.
