Bornkamp cemetery - a place in transition

Bornkamp cemetery is no longer a place of farewell alone. It is being transformed - carefully but noticeably - into a lively space for encounters, nature and culture.

Something new is being created next to the former chapel and listed depot: a biodiversity park created by WeField e.V. with its own Tiny Forest, where wild plants take root and insects find a new home. Anyone who wants to feel the earth under their fingers will find a place to garden in the neighborhood garden - to sow, cultivate and harvest in the middle of the city.

Today, the old walls frame workshop rooms where knowledge is shared and new things are tried out. The Market of Possibilities opens its doors regularly: a lively, multicultural hustle and bustle of crafts, art, music and encounters. This is accompanied by changing cultural events that give the site a voice and rhythm.

Bornkamp Cemetery is growing beyond itself - a place that respects the past and invites the future.
