As the first municipal gallery in Neukölln, the Galerie im Körnerpark opened its doors to national and international artists in 1983. Today it is one of the most renowned exhibition venues for contemporary art in Berlin. The neo-baroque orangery with its large arcade windows is an ideal place for artistic experiments that open up new spaces for visitors to experience. In the elongated building, the art unfolds expansively and sometimes reaches up to the six-meter-high ceiling. The wide range of exhibitions and events takes into account the cultural diversity of the district and brings people from different backgrounds together.

The profile of the Galerie im Körnerpark has been sharpened over the last decade and today the program focuses on cultural diversity, the perspective of women and the relationship between man and nature. The exhibitions are curated by different people to ensure that the broadest possible spectrum of presentation forms and interpretative approaches are brought to bear.

The Galerie im Körnerpark not only shows exhibitions, but also offers space for discussions, performances, concerts, readings and other accompanying events, to which everyone is welcome.

Parallel to the exhibitions, the art education department organizes exciting workshops in which children, young people and Neukölln residents can experience art and link it to their own experiences.
