The special thing about the Goldkante is that it also belongs to you: we are a "registered association" in which anyone who wants to can become a member and take care of the Goldkante. In this way, anyone who wants to get involved can decide how and what is served and presented here: From drinks to concerts, readings, exhibitions, film art or disco.

Nothing in or around the Goldkante is anyone's personal property, which is why everything is a bit peculiar: Grandma's old smoking table is just as much a part of the decor here as the famous "eternal light". DJs regularly play music here and furniture is pushed aside to make room for dancing. The Goldkante is a place where people meet for a beer, a cocktail or a Coke and enjoy the panorama of the Alte Hattinger Straße. It's a place where people walk past, pause for a moment and enter with a smile - everyone is welcome.

Our aim is to play a key role in shaping Bochum's cultural landscape and to allow everyone who wants to participate to do so. That is why our events have always been free of charge and will remain so.
