The GRASSI is a museum quarter in the heart of Leipzig. It combines three museums with different themes in one place: Art, Design, World Cultures, Music and Instruments. Together we organize various major events as "Museums at GRASSI", such as the "Open Day" or the "GRASSIFEST" for the whole family.
The Art Deco-style building complex was built between 1925 and 1929. With its inner courtyards and the adjoining park-like Old St. John's Cemetery, the site is a unique cultural attraction and at the same time a place of peace and relaxation on the eastern edge of the city center. The building owes its name to the merchant and patron Franz Dominic Grassi.
