THEATERSPORT - The short story (1.1.2024)

1990 Premiere at LTT (Werkstatt) 13.1.1990.
Germany's first professional theater sports team.

1992 Volker Quandt leaves the LTT and founds the Harlekin Theater together with Heiner Kondschak, Udo Zepezauer and Annette Burchard. Venues in Tübingen from October 92: Sudhaus, Franz. Casino, Mensa.

1996 Theatersport is brought back to the LTT by artistic director Knut Weber - as a cooperation between Harlekin Theater and LTT.

2004-2013 IMPROAMSTÜCK - 43 plays/fragments in the style of classical playwrights are improvised for a full evening, including Shakespeare, Schiller, Chekhov, Brecht, Goethe, Lessing, Kleist, Ibsen.

2012 The book "Die Lust am Scheitern.Theatersport" by Volker Quandt and Thomas Vogel is published.

2014-2019 The Harlequin Soup Theater at Café Haag. Every year for 4-6 weeks.
A different kind of lunch break: first slurp and then laugh.

2015 GRENZENLOS - Impro meets dance, music and live painting.

2016 ImproGlobal - Different cultures and languages collide.

2017 DIE 27 STUNDEN VON TÜBINGEN. 9 x non-stop theater sports. With ever-changing casts - streamed live to Japan, Australia, USA and Brazil.
Global time zone theater.

2019 THEATERSPORT - The IMPRO Gala - the Harlequin actors with finished texts for a change.

2020 TÜBINGEN IMPROVISED - 12 different IMPRO formats at 12 different locations in Tübingen - with grand finale at LTT.

2021 Impro to the power of 2 - Due to the coronavirus, 21 new IMPRO long forms are created that can be improvised in pairs. Runs under the title Theatersport-Spezial.

2022 THEATERSPORTZ - all about the future and AI.

2023/1 ImproRAPMusical. Improvised rap has been around for a long time. Improvised musicals too. But what hasn't existed yet is a completely improvised RAP-MUSICAL - a real world premiere.

2023/4 Bilingual THEATERSPORT at the Goethe-Institut Salvador das Bahia.
