Hicc Up

In the location's words:

The Hicc Up has been around for more than 25 years now. The name was derived from an article in the FAZ newspaper on the subject of "hiccups". A restaurant called Bergschänke was already operating at this location at the height of the mining era. While it was sufficient for us to focus on drinks back then, we have specialized in various facets of gastronomy over the years. We always have a large selection of various malt whiskies, bourbon, Irish whiskey and scotch at the bar. We can also offer a large selection of cocktails. However, we are particularly proud of our coffee. We prepare it according to old Italian tradition in a portafilter machine. We only use original Italian coffee beans. We added our classic burger to the menu long before the burger hype.

These are still an absolute hit with us today. Our spare ribs are so tender that the meat falls off the bone on its own. This alone is worth a visit. We prepare the pizza according to the original Italian recipe. We only use ingredients that meet our high standards. Our menu is rounded off with delicious salads, chicken wings, baguettes etc.

Those who like it sporty can also play the typical "pub triathlon" with us. We have steel dart boards, 9ft pool billiards and foosball tables. And last but not least, our spacious terrace invites you to linger.

Since the 2022/23 season, we have been showing all BVB matches live here again. In the usual pub atmosphere, we can once again cheer, celebrate and cheer together, but also comment and discuss.
