The Komödie am Kai is a charming private theater in the heart of Vienna, located at Franz-Josefs-Kai 29 in the 1st district, not far from the Ruprechtskirche and Schwedenplatz. The small house was opened on May 27, 1982 and has been entertaining audiences with international boulevard theater for over 40 years.

The program is aimed at an audience that likes to laugh, but also likes to think: laugh-out-loud hits, crime comedies, cabaret and classics alternate. The repertoire consists mainly of German-language and Austrian premieres by authors such as Daniel Glattauer, Stefan Vögel, Neil Simon and Ray Cooney.

The theater is deliberately kept small and intimate - the stage is clearly visible from all seats - and offers its guests a cultivated, cozy atmosphere. The declared aim of the theater is for the audience to simply laugh from the heart and leave the evening with a smile on their face.
