In the location's words:

The Chemnitz motor transport hall was built in 1960 and provided a roof for the trucks of VEB Kraftverkehr Karl-Marx-Stadt. The unique roof construction is a listed building in terms of architecture and construction.

Last but not least, the hall was considered the largest self-supporting hall in the GDR. Entrepreneur Andreas Wöllenstein took over the site many years ago, so that the hall served as a van and truck workshop.

Kraftverkehr Chemnitz combines tradition and modernity

Following the relocation of the truck workshop and the construction of the new van workshop, initial plans were made to convert the building into a congress and event hall. Under the management of Andreas Wöllenstein, Kraftverkehr was extensively renovated in 2017 without losing any of its special industrial charm.

The newly created Kraftverkehr Chemnitz, as a cultural and congress center, offers a unique event location for creative and classic event concepts.
