A lick of paradise

"One all, please!" - That would be our standard order at Kugelpudel Garden of Eden. Because there are so many infinitely awesome flavors here that it's just hard to decide - including quite a lot of vegan ice cream and not just fruit sorbets: pistachio and vanilla cookie are our favorite vegan ice cream flavors, along with snikka (modeled on the well-known bar) and hazelnut, while for non-vegan it's beestich and dulce de leche.

Vegans can also enjoy cakes and waffles. Our favorite is clearly the date waffle, because it is soooo juicy! In addition, there are also super cool milkshakes and coffee creations. Just try your way through the offer - it's worth it!

The delicious treats are homemade in the ice cream lab at the "Kugelpudelhaus am See" in Bochum, the headquarters of the ice cream parlor. Every season, Julia surprises and delights with new ice cream creations developed by her and her team. She is an insanely creative mind and has also lovingly decorated the store on Rheinische Straße with a great deal of taste: Colorful cushions, a golden curtain and a focus on earth tones turn the ice cream parlor into a cozy den with a recognizable touch.

As the name suggests, the cave is adjoined by a beautiful garden, which the Poodle shares with the 44309 Street Art Gallery - also one of our favorite places. There, as in the Garden of Eden, an apple tree draws the eye and grows mint - great for fresh mint tea and apple sorbet. Enjoying a delicious ice cream there is truly a slice - or lick - of paradise.

If you don't want to - or currently: are not allowed to - sit down, the Kugelpudel is the perfect pit stop for a stroll along the Rheinische, around the U or towards Westpark or Tremonia.

But for us, there's nothing like being able to sit in the garden again very soon. Very soon...
