In May 2017, the new art, culture and music location opened its doors in Schwäbisch Gmünd, around 50 km from Stuttgart, and offers a platform, playground and home to a broad spectrum of local and national artists from a wide range of fields.

It is run by the non-profit association Sandtogether e. V. from Schwäbisch Gmünd. It was founded in 2011 to promote sand painting and the fun of creating together. Based on sand painting, the association has always enjoyed incorporating a wide variety of art forms into its diverse activities and sees itself as a kind of cultural organism, a lively platform for collaborative art projects.
