The "Kulturladen Villa Leon" is one of the eleven cultural stores run by the City of Nuremberg's Office for Culture and Leisure. It is located in the Sankt Leonhard/Schweinau district on the site of the former abattoir and is housed in a more than one hundred year old management villa. In 2001, Villa Leon took over from Nuremberg's oldest cultural store "KuRo", which had been located in Rothenburger Straße for more than 25 years. Today, the cultural center combines a cultural store, library, traveling library and a pub under one roof.

Under the motto "Living diversity", the cultural range is reflected both in the program and in the people who use Villa Leon as a meeting place or who realize their own offers there. The events are organized partly by Villa Leon itself and partly in collaboration with associations, initiatives, groups and individuals. Participants come not only from the district, but also from the entire region or even from outside to realize their ideas in this lively cultural space. Villa Leon sees itself as a meeting place where diversity and peaceful coexistence take center stage.
